Life changes. Kids grow up. A disconnect forms between the lifestyle your home was originally designed for and how you now live. If you’ve fallen out of love with your current home, it could be time for a change.
The kids love the school they’re in, you love how close your home is to your workplace and all your friends, but the home you live in just isn’t in sync with the way you live. No problem. Nothing breathes life into a home quite like a renovation.
Whatever you have in mind, whether it’s a kitchen and bathroom makeover or a complete remodelling, let us apply our 35 years of renovation expertise to transform your home, adding more space where you need it, less where you don’t, upgrading appliances, and adding street appeal (and more value) with a fresh new facade.
Ready to fall back in love with your home?
Let’s talk. the process begins with an obligation-free chat – at your place or ours – to discuss your needs and wants, and get to know a little bit about what makes you tick. Because the more we know about you and how you live, the better the advice we can give.
We believe that everyone should love where they live, and that your home should adapt to you, not vice versa. To achieve that takes teamwork. And trust. You, us, working together from the start.
The first step in our process is a casual chat over a coffee. This is a get to know each other meeting and can be at your place or ours. We’ll tell you a bit more about Evolution, our capabilities and past projects, and you give us an initial project brief. We’ll discuss budget expectations and timeline. If you already have renovation plans drawn up, we can jump straight to Step 3 and start preparing a budget.
The project team consists of yourself and your choice of designer/architect, builder and, if applicable, interior designer. We work with a select group of very talented people and suggest 1 or 2 who we think would be the best fit for your project. You get to choose the people you are most comfortable with. Once the right team is in place, we do a detailed project and design brief, delving into how you live, what you love about your home and what you don’t. This helps us design a renovation that fits your needs perfectly. We also create a mood board of visual inspiration and ideas from which you can create a wish list.
This is the refinement stage, tweaking the design until you are 100% happy, finalising the budget and selecting fittings, fixtures, colours etc - (with an interior designer if applicable). We’ll put together a plan to minimise any disruption to your home life during construction and can even organise removalists to ensure your belongings are kept safe and protected until work has finished. We also liaise with the local authority/council on your behalf to get all the necessary approvals and paperwork, including the building permit.
There are three main forms of contracts used by home builders: standard contracts, fixed price and cost-plus contracts. Our team can explain the differences and benefits of each and recommend which contract would best suit your project.
Throughout this phase you will have access to the building site as well as a dedicated building supervisor to talk you through the process, answer any questions you may have and, should any unforeseen issues arise, deal with them quickly and professionally. The team of tradespeople we assign to your project are all highly skilled so you can be sure your home will be finished to a very high standard.
It’s time to pop the cork on that champagne as we walk you through the finished project, checking that everything is as it should be before you start moving your furniture back in. We’ll make sure you have all the manuals for any new appliances. And if you come across any little defects in your renovation, don’t worry, we provide a 6-month defect liability for your peace of mind.
